Green Spiral Wall Sculpture
$500
15 x 15 x 11
Handbuilt spiral wall sculpture made from paperclay with multiple layers of glaze and colored engobes, creating a highly textured surface. This sculpture projects 11" out from the wall and has a spread of 15" .
After the piece is bisque fired, I apply a layer of underglaze and fire again. After that firing, I apply another color glaze and wipe off the glaze from the highpoints of the surface, revealing the color beneath, and fire again. This creates a variegated surface.
Serving Bowl / Wall Hanging 1
$265
3 x 12 x 12
Stoneware, wheelthrown serving bowl with layered slip decoration and yellow glaze. Can be hung on the wall.
I like the idea of a functional object being a work of art in its own right. This serving bowl can sit on your table or hang on your wall as a painting might.
New Arrival
$175
4 x 7 x 1
A slab-built, structured, hollow form of porcelain with colored porcelain slip decoration over wax resist drawings of pattern. Further embellishment is achieved with underglaze painting and fired multiple times to achieve the layered surface.
I recently began an entire series of creating porcelain birds as a personal journey marking time, using a visual language of feminine pattern, color and symbols. Each is wrapped in adornment that speaks more about my personal mood and my setting, taking cues from the hues and motifs surrounding me and less about the specific species, thus, creating a visual diary.
When I Grow Up
$260
6 x 5 x 4
A slab-built, structured, hollow form of porcelain with colored porcelain slip decoration over wax resist drawings of pattern. Further embellishment is achieved with underglaze painting and fired multiple times to achieve the layered surface.
Each bird is thoroughly designed; even the undersides of each bird's feet are patterned.
Gender Bender
$1000
18 x 4 x 3
Gender Bender is a hanging figure. It is handbuilt from high fire stoneware clay, painted with underglazes, and soda fired to c/ 10. It's hair is broom bristle and the skirt is beads, antique keys and other found objects tied with waxed linen and leather.
Gender Bender is meant androgynous - neither male or female. It represents a big question many people are afraid to discuss - where do I fit in.
Female Icon III, Unknown
$900
11 x 8 x 8
Ceramic bust made from brick clay, solid construction, multiple oxidation firings, c/04.
I traveled to Rome in December of 2017 and this work is heavily influenced by my research there. In Rome, time has a strong presence and the evidence of previous ages is obvious. My ceramic sculptures are presented as artifacts and icons in order to subvert and question the narrative of the past.
